About Colonia La Mesa, Tijuana

Colonia La Mesa is a compact colonia of about twelve hectares fronting Boulevard Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, in the delegación of the same name. The distinction matters: the delegación of La Mesa covers a large part of eastern Tijuana and contains dozens of colonias, while Colonia La Mesa itself is one small neighbourhood within it. An address in the delegación is not necessarily an address in the colonia.

Its immediate neighbours are Contreras and Contreras Oeste, Gas y Anexas, Las Lilas, Moreno and La Mesa Sur, with Guillén, FOVISSSTE Los Volcanes and La Esmeralda just beyond. Boulevard Salvador Rosas Magallón and Boulevard Federico Benítez López both pass within a few hundred metres, so the colonia is well connected for its size.

It is dense and mixed rather than purely residential: schools, clinics and pharmacies sit along and behind the boulevard, including an IMSS clinic and several private colleges.

At about ten minutes from our counter, residents and the local practices collect readily rather than batching orders.
