About Colonia Cumbres de Juárez, Tijuana

Colonia Cumbres de Juárez climbs the hills south-west of Tijuana's centre, inside the Centro delegación but hard against its boundary with San Antonio de los Buenos. The name is descriptive — these are ridge-and-canyon streets, and the neighbouring colonia names read the same way: Laderas de Monterrey, Cumbres de Maltrata, Cerro de la Silla, Cañón de la Pedrera.

It adjoins Fundadores, Monterrey, Madero Sur and Laderas de Monterrey within Centro, and La Sierra and Valle del Rubí across the delegación line. Colonia Juárez, which gives the colonia the second half of its name, sits immediately beyond. Commerce concentrates on Boulevard de los Fundadores and Boulevard Cuauhtémoc Sur; the interior streets are residential.

The colonia is closer to the border than its hillside setting suggests — about eight minutes to our counter. That matters for how a U.S. mailbox is used: residents collect as parcels arrive rather than batching them, and order routinely rather than only for large purchases.

Demand is domestic: household goods, electronics, tools, clothing and school equipment from U.S. retailers who will not ship into Mexico.
